The more of an inward focus we have, the more we only tend to see our problems with little to no way out. This in turn, can keep us in an ongoing cycle of depression with the associated feelings of hopelessness, despair, and unending physical, spiritual, mental and emotional fatigue.
However, if for one instance, we can look up, look out, and see the possibility that there is someone who can benefit from our existence, even if it’s only in some small way, giving back can give us that glimmer of hope we need to improve not only our outlook on life, but also improve the life of someone else. That is true significance.
There are many local charities that need your help. I encourage you to research local agencies and non-profit organizations in your town to see where you can make a contribution with your time, talents and resources.
There are currently three organizations I have come to love, who are making a huge difference in the lives of others. Locally and abroad, children and adults alike are finding hope and a reason to smile. I encourage you to learn more about these organizations in addition to your own personal research. They could all use your help to continue making a difference.
